A chat with Greg Flynn – Global President at Inizio Engage

How important is the emergence of clean data and analytics?

Inizio Engage is in the business of engaging with our clients’ customers – HCPs, patients, care partners, payers.

To create impactful engagements that inspire the change needed to deliver better health outcomes, we need to make sure that these engagements speak to customers with the language that resonates via the delivery channel of their choice at the time they need it. To do this, we must have the appropriate data that tells us how to optimize this engagement.

In this rapidly evolving product and commercialization landscape, further complicated with increasing innovation in technology and the emergence of AI as a resource, there is a preponderance of data generated with every touchpoint.

We are still working in an environment where this data is often stored in siloes, so creating that “all important” connection to deliver actionable insights to drive the right message when and how it will resonate, becomes imperative.

At Inizio Engage we have brought together companies with expertise in data and integrated insights to assist our clients with their engagement solutions. Propensity4, a leader in the healthcare data and analytics space, transforms disparate data information into integrated smart data.

In so doing, we are able to connect the dots between HCP, patient and payer to optimize commercialization solutions. Nuvera, a life science consulting firm specializing in creating innovative patient-centric solutions, has created a process to deliver the optimal treatment experience for those suffering with rare and orphan disease.

Their Treatment Experience Blueprint methodology takes diverse and complex information from various functional groups within the pharmaceutical client to develop a highly actionable “single source of truth” that creates momentum across the organization.

We also have developed Trak360, a proprietary, omnichannel technology platform that uses data from patient touchpoints in every channel to fuel the delivery of the appropriate education and support throughout the patient’s treatment experience as part of our Patient Solutions specialist area.

These are just some illustrations of how we can approach data to deliver purposeful engagements that resonate. As AI and other technologies continue to evolve, we will continue to embrace their usefulness in how we address our clients’ needs.

What have been particular areas of growth in the last couple of years?

Inizio Engage is actually a purpose-built brand, established to change the way the industry interacts with its customers. Launched in early June, we now combine the strength, expertise, and proven track record of Ashfield Engage and The Creative Engagement Group into a unified global strategic, commercial, and creative engagement partner.

Prior to this launch, both companies were addressing needs within the healthcare landscape by adding services and companies to their respective portfolios. We anticipate continuing in this fashion as our clients’ needs demand and changes in healthcare delivery need to be addressed. Primary areas of growth in the last few years would include:

  • Our Decision Optimization specialist area demonstrates our commitment to assisting our clients in their decision-making process. Here we have added Propensity4, which transforms disparate data from customers, commercial operations and strategic objectives into integrated insight and business performance drivers in a way that supports better, quicker, and more informed decisions. Nuvera offers a unique Treatment Experience Blueprint process drawing upon information throughout the organization and market research flesh out an engagement approach that will enrich the treatment experience for both patients and healthcare providers. Their PURE Report offers keen insight into patient support programs through in-depth research of physicians and patients.
  • Our Patient Solutions specialist area is launching an enriched program for patient access. This program has been built based on the specialist area’s extensive experience in serving patients with specialty and rare and orphan disease along with client demand to better support and manage the process from diagnosis through treatment.
  • Our Medical Affairs specialist area, a leader of Medical Information and Medical Liaison services globally, has been enriching its leadership and staff to meet global demand. With a focus on customer experience and localized solutions around the world, our investments in people and technologies have enhanced the already global function.
  • Our XD (Experience Design) specialist area has seen significant growth across its capabilities in events, exhibitions and congress; employee engagement; learning and capability development, and behavioral science – as well as key executional areas such as film, digital and immersive. A key reason for our sustained growth is the ability to seamlessly combine our expertise to deliver the best integrated solutions for our clients across all stages of a drug lifecycle.
  • Our Commercial specialist area has experienced a notable transformation, rapidly moving away from conventional CSO operations towards meeting a growing client demand for cutting-edge omnichannel solutions. To fulfill this demand, we have formed a strategic partnership with Ysura in Europe, enabling us to develop and implement comprehensive omnichannel capabilities and are actively working to replicate this success worldwide.

How would you describe employee culture at the company and how is it evolving?

We are very proud of the culture we have created within Inizio Engage. We understand that our clients partner with us as a service organization because of the relationships we build with them, the trust we create. This is often even more important than the solutions we offer.

I often say “culture eats strategy for breakfast,” and without a culture that encourages employee engagement and loyalty, overall company performance suffers and employees are unhappy.

I firmly believe that our talent is what differentiates us within this industry and they are with us because of the culture we have established. We thrive on human connection so we are diligent in our quest to identify talent and build high performance teams demonstrating empathy with our clients, their customers and each other. In this quest, our focus is to motivate, inspire and retain.

We accomplish this by involving our employees in the development of strategy and encouraging their diversity of thinking throughout our solution building and delivery.

This approach not only delivers great, rich solutions for our client partners, but keeps our employees engaged. The resulting stability we are able to create, within this culture of diversity and empowerment, enables us to be the changemakers and market-shapers who deliver the strategic, creative and commercial solutions our clients have come to expect in partnering with us, and our employees are keen to deliver.

The fact that Inizio Engage is continually evolving with new company acquisitions and an embrace of smart technologies, keeps our culture fresh and smart, and our talent challenged to deliver change.
