Deal adds bioanalytical expertise in Australia

Novotech has reached agreement to acquire Agilex Biolabs, a specialist bioanalytical laboratory headquartered in Adelaide, from a subsidiary of Healius. The company said the deal will strengthen its clinical development capabilities by adding Australian bioanalytical expertise to its existing laboratory network across Asia.

The acquisition will allow Novotech to offer biotech and pharmaceutical sponsors more responsive R&D support in Australia, which remains one of the world’s most attractive destinations for early-phase clinical research. Completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions, including regulatory clearances.

Novotech is a global full-service clinical research organisation with more than 30 offices across Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe. The company partners with over 5,000 trial sites and provides integrated clinical development services for biotech and small to mid-sized pharmaceutical companies.
